Who Der?
Current 14Point7 is composed of just me, Alan To. I do everything. I burden all the blame. I deserve all accolades.

Keeping it Real
At one point I was quite interested in automotive performance, that time is now long past. For awhile I struggled to reconcile my objectives with that of my customers, I like electronics, my customers like to make cars go fast. I realize that be it circuits or engine, my objective and my customer's objective are the same; maximize performance given cost constraints. My passion is Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 efficiency; build the best product possible at the lowest price possible, that allows my customer to extract the best possible performance from their engine at the lowest price possible. I am happy getting paid for doing what I like doing, my customers are happy to purchase a good product at a great price, no losers in that transaction.

What You Is?
14Point7 was established in 2007, our first product was the JAW DIY (Just another Wideband Do It Yourself) Lambda Controller for the technically savvy yet budget minded tuner. Like most other Lambda Controllers on the market JAW was based on the Atmel AVR microcontroller. AVR and the like (PIC, Z8, 8051, etc...) offers a great set of digital peripherals and great computing core, but has a very limited set of analog peripherals. Taking the JAW design to the "next level" would require layering of additional external analog circuitry, the final product would be no better and no worse than products from most of our competitors. In late 2007 work was underway to design a new breed of Lambda Controllers utilizing Cypress PSOC (Programmable System On Chip) microcontrollers. PSOC featured; Programmable logic for custom digital peripherals, Programmable Switch Capacitor Blocks for custom analog peripherals, and a great computing core. PSOC allows us to do better with one chip than what our competitors can do with a dozen.

In 2008 and 2009 we launched our NAW (Not Another Wideband) series Lambda Controllers based on the Cypress PSOC microcontroller, the NAW series offered high accuracy and fast response times at an affordable price.

Currently in 2010 we are launching the SLC (Sigma Lambda Controller) series Lambda Controllers. The SLC series is a highly polished series of Lambda Controllers offering exceptional accuracy, quick response times, a large feature set, and high reliability all at a price lower than any of our competitors.
